A quick word bout these YouTube statistics measuring the average age of the audience of a video: They’re total crap. When people make their YouTube accounts more often than not they’re lying about their age to get around restrictions of certain videos (you know how it goes: Website: “Please enter your birth date” – User: “January 1, 1900. Yup.”)
And for people not having accounts or not being logged in with them these measurements are made with tools which you could call spyware, coming with all these atrocious browser toolbars. And seeing how most of the younger folks are tech-savvy enough to avoid these, it’s hardly a surprise that you’ll often see older people popping up as the “top audience”.
