In his continued work on different themes tied to childhood and adolescence (his first feature En Tu Ausencia dealt with the childhood-adolescence transition, Brecha with a problematic father-son relationship, ¡Primaria! With the unbridled creativity of 7 year-olds) Ivan Noel has just now finished the filming of Vuelve: a powerful and highly visual psychological thriller that follows, uncensored, the stages of grief a boy faces after his unstable and manipulative mother commits suicide in front of him.
In this film–which is likely to have ink flowing heavily amongst the moral guardians–we follow Gabriel (led outstandingly by the rather haunting Renzo), the film sinks deeper and deeper into the darkest realms of his troubled psyche, not sparing even the most socially incorrect truths on how sadness, guilt and later anger can unleash itself upon the most unsuspecting.
This film has special interest here since it was created as a direct result of milkboy’s publication of its teaser one year ago, and a call for investors. It can likely now be called milkboy’s first indirect film production! The Vuelve team would very much like to thank Josh for his continued support, and hope more of these films can be made.
