A 15-year-old boy from the U.S. state Ohio had sex-offender therapy for three years because, as a 12-year-old, he had consensual sex with an 11-year-old friend. The notion was that when kids have sex before they turn 13 they’re automatically victims of sexual abuse, no matter if the “offender” is under 13 as well, no matter if the sex is consensual or not. If the kids involved in this case will ever be able to develop a healthy attitude towards sex is questionable but at least the justice system, after all, had one of it’s rare sane days when it eventually came to its final decision.
